The Classic Burger

Recipe Ingredients

First of all, check if you have all the necessary ingredients for this recipe. Pay attention to the quantities!
  • ground lean beef - 500g
  • large egg - 1 piece
  • minced onion - 1 piece
  • dried bread crumbs - 10 flat tablespoons
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • minced garlic - 2 cloves
  • salt - 1 flat teaspoon
  • ground pepper - 0.5 teaspoon
  • hamburger buns - 4 pieces
  • mayonnaise, ketchup - 65ml each
  • iceberg lettuce - 4 crispy leaves
  • onion - 4 thin slices

Recipe Instructions

Next, follow the steps to finalize your dish and finally be able to enjoy it!
  1. In a well sized bowl mix ground beef, egg, diced onion, bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, 1 teaspoon salt, and 0.5 teaspoon pepper until well blended.

  2. Divide mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 10cm wide.

  3. Lay burgers on a slightly oiled preheated frying pan/grilling pan. To check that your pan is ready, place your hand just above the pan. If you can hold your hand at grill level only for 2 to 3 seconds, it is ready to start.

  4. Cook the burgers for 3-5 minutes on each side, until browned on both sides and no longer pink inside (cut to test), 7 to 8 minutes total. Remove from grill.

  5. Lay the buns cut side down on grill and cook until lightly toasted, 30 seconds to 1 minute.

  6. Spread the half of mayonnaise and ketchup on bun bottoms. Then add lettuce, tomato, burger, onion, and salt and pepper on top of each other. Set bun tops in place and you are all set.
